What is your vision for the next phase of cooperation between WHO and China?

Regarding 2019 coronavirus disease, China's research and development capabilities can contribute to the development of global vaccines and treatments, and help provide its research and development results to all those in need. China ’s support in sharing experience, developing diagnostic reagents and equipment to control the epidemic together with other countries is crucial to help countries with scarce health resources respond to the 2019 coronavirus disease epidemic.

China has passed the first peak period in the fight against the epidemic. The challenge now is to prevent the rebound of the epidemic after resuming work and returning to school. Before the emergence of group immunity, effective treatment or vaccines, the virus still poses a threat to us. Looking to the future, it is still necessary to reduce the risks of various populations through daily infection prevention measures taken in different places. Now we still cannot relax our vigilance and take it lightly.

Recalling my visit to Wuhan in January, I would like to take this opportunity to once again express my respect to clinical medical personnel and public health workers who are struggling on the front line throughout China and the world.

WHO will continue to work closely with China not only to cope with the 2019 coronavirus disease epidemic, but also to continue to immunize, reduce chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, eliminate malaria, control infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and hepatitis, and improve Cooperate with other health priority areas such as the health level of all people and provide support for all to build a healthier future.
