IADC: 637 – TCI journal sealed bearing bit with gauge protection for medium hard formations with high compressive strength.

8 1/2inches (215.9mm) tricone bit is a very regular size. Applications covers vertical well drilling like water well drilling, oil/gas well, and horizontal drilling like trenchless/No-Dig/HDD application. Besides that, (roller cones1/3, thirds) of 8 1/2″ tricone bits which cone-diameter is 133 mm are widely used in foundation rock piling field.
Steel raw materials 15CrNiMo for the arm and 15MnNi4Mo for the cone, the cutting teeth which we call it Inserts or TCI(Tungsten Carbide Insert) is hard alloy for drilling hard rocks, especially the IADC637G that has conical ball shape tungsten carbide inserts or spherical shape inserts has very good performance in drilling hard rocks.
