As the development of hard-facing technology, steel body PDC bits become to be higher wear resistance, steel body PDC bits are used more and more by its higher ROP, safer drilling and lower cost. But in very deep horizontal directional drilling section, matrix body PDC bits still have advantage of longer working life to avoid bit replacement.
