Milled Tooth Roller Cone Bit is only for drilling soft rocks or mudstone that combined with sticky composition, TCI ( tungsten carbide inserts ) tricone bits can not drill very soft formations due to slow penetration rate(ROP) and bit-balling.
Milled tooth roller cone bits is mainly used for HDD crossing in mudstone and harder interbed that barrel reamer can not pass through and TCI rock reamer easily being bit-balling.
