IADC: 537 – TCI journal sealed bearing bit with gauge protection for soft to medium soft formations with low compressive strength.
Compressive Strength:
85 – 100 MPA

Ground Description:
Moderately hard and abrasive rocks such as: sandstones with quartz streaks, hard limestones or chalk, hematite. Hard, well-compacted abrasive rocks, such as sandstones with quartz binders, dolomites, quartzite shales, magmatic and metamorphic coarse-grained rocks.
We can offer TCI bits in avariety of sizes (from 3 3/8″ to 26″) and all most of IADC codes.

According to cutting material,tirocne bit can be divided into TCI bit and Steel Tooth Bit.
TCI is short for Tungsten Carbide Insert, tungsten carbide is regular hard material in rock drilling field, another material is diamond.

We suggest that we had better choose metal face sealed bearing bits for deep rock wells with hard formations.For very deep well drilling, we recommend Metal-face sealed bearing tricone bits in drilling depth exceeds 1000 meters, For hard rock and long distance trenchless pilot hole drilling that length exceeds 300 meters we also recommend metal-face sealed bearing tricone bits.For water well drilling, shallow well drilling or shorter distance trenchless pilot hole drilling projects, elastomer(rubber) sealed bearing tricone bits has better cost performance.

Product Specification

IADC537 means that tricone roller bit is suitable for drilling medium hardness rocks like limestone, shale, gypsum, etc. The bearing is elastomer sealed to increase working life.
Tungsten carbide inserts(TCI) is very hard alloy to drilling hard rocks, the heel of cones and arm-back are full inserted with Tungsten Carbide teeth.
It is a common size in mining field, to drill blast hole. In mining drilling, first number for IADC code are usually 6,7,8,and the third number are usually 2 and 5.
According to IADC specifications for tricone bit,”2″ means standard open bearing roller bit,and “5″ means sealed roller bearing bit with gauge protection.
